Once Upon a Time In The West (1968)

This epic Western is Sergio Leone’s best work — and that’s saying a lot, since he has many great films.

Fortunately, on my first go I watched the full saga (2hrs and 55 minutes) — and not knowing of other, lesser versions. This film did poorly upon its release due to butchering for time. This is one cinematic masterpiece that is worth spending the almost 3 hours to immerse yourself in its rich world.

Charles Bronson is the enigmatic stranger, a young Jason Robards plays a rapscallion with a smidge of honor — and Henry Fonda, playing against type, is the chilling villain Frank. If you’re a fan of Westerns — or epic storytelling — do yourself a favor and check it out. You’ll want to see this version:
