Great article! I hadn't heard of "Marriage Story" or "Boy Erased" so I'd like to view them but they'll probably be in that same category. For me, "Requiem For A Dream" and "House of Sand and Fog" - probably "Old Yeller" too!
My friend Bill and I had gone to see "House of Sand and Fog" and his remark afterward was "That's the best movie I never want to see again." I remember Jay Leno on The Tonight Show quipping " It's a great movie. After I saw it, I wanted to shoot myself!".
Just thought of another one - "Happiness". That final scene with the dog...eeewwww!
